New Finds

I'm so thrilled with our new puzzle rack that I had to give it it's own post. I've been wanting one of these for months but haven't been able to find one locally and the shipping was as much as the rack itself. Now the kids can help themselves to playing with one puzzle at a time. Of course, I have to keep an eye on Trip, the Destroyer, who lately just wants to stroll through the house dumping and knocking over anything he can get his little paws on. I spotted the puzzle rack yesterday at the Knowlege Tree (which I LOVE- great selection of learning toys) where we also got this super cool new toy. It's a loaf of bread that has #'s and letters on it and can be put back together only if it's in the correct sequence. Ruby loved it (forgot to get a pic so took one from online). Yea for learning!!

Flip-Flop Outfits

Thank you YaYa for the girls' flip-flop outfits. They wore them together today to the Rock Creek playground and to the mall for lunch and looked too cute! Ruby insisted on wearing her green Crocs which I wasn't too thrilled with but she still looked precious. Thank you so much!!

Ruby in my dress

Ruby looked so cute today that I had to get a pic but she does look a little bald in the 1st one. This was my dress when I was little that I had monogrammed for Ruby. She insisted on wearing her pink Chuck's but I actually think they look pretty cute with it.

The Fountain

These aren't the best pics but it shows the kids at the new park downtown. It's pretty hard to get decent pics there without getting soaking wet yourself. Most of the pictures were taken back in July but the last 2 were taken Sunday afternoon. We went to eat lunch downtown with several other couples from church and then we all walked over to the fountain.

For the Love of Elmo!!!!

Trip is totally OBSESSED with Elmo and today I saw an Elmo costume in Trip's size at a consignment shop. Here's video of Trip trying on the costume. Ruby wanted to put on her Halloween costume too and I caught this great shot of her as Belle.

A Fun Rainy Day

Hooray for my carrot eaters!!

Recently Ruby has really gotten into eating raw baby carrots with light ranch dressing. Tonight, my pickier eater, Trip, decided he liked them too, probably thanks to Sissy's influence............ Oh my, as I'm typing this I look over at Ruby who's eating a cookie as a reward for eating her veggies tonight and she was dipping it into the ranch dressing. Ick! (By the way, the kids did get more for supper other than grapes, a piece of cheese, and raw carrots- that was what I gave them to munch on while the chicken pot pie cooled off.) Tomorrow we'll try raw broccoli with ranch. Wish me luck!

Dressing up is a must!!

Ruby has always been into dressing up but more and more often she's wanting to wear dress-up clothes out in public. That's totally fine with me because I just love to see her be a child while I can- before she loses the innocence. It is so very cute and she got lots of oohs and aahs as to how beautiful she was during our errands to Dillard's and Wal-Mart today. Trip wanted to be in the picture too...... now I may have 2nd thoughts if Trip decides he wants to wear the princess shirt out in public.

Teeth Time

Lately Ruby and Trip seem to be doing everything together as a pair. I guess because Trip is becoming more independent and not the tiny one that's waiting behind for mommy's help. Last night they were so cute standing together at the bathroom sink brushing their teeth that I had to try to sneak a pic. But, this was the best that I could get. At one point they were both grinning and laughing at each other in the mirror but, of course, they had stopped by the time I ran and got the camera.

Tub Time

Tonight while I was giving the kids a bath, Ruby asked me to take their picture. They were both so smiley and cooperative!! Why is it that they both decide to cooperate and let me take their picture when they're completely naked? Maybe this is the beginning of a new phase in picture taking and I'll start to get lots of shots of 2 happy smiling faces. Yippee!!

New Job

I'm excited to have gotten a very part-time job today at Cupcakes & Caterpillars, a super cute children's boutique in West Little Rock. I'll be working every other Saturday from 10-6 and will get a 20% discount on my purchases. Now, the only challenge will be to not spend more than I make while I'm in there!! I think it will be good for the kids to have a day with Rex too. I start next Saturday, the 23rd. Fuunnnnn!!

Hilarious Gymnastics Videos

I took some brief video on my camera at the last day of Ruby's gymnastics camp. In the 1st video I was trying to capture Ruby doing her flip but the funny part is a kid poking Ruby in the face and then having a meltdown in the background. In the 2nd clip, Ruby bust on her face. How much are we paying for these classes?! =)

Sorry Rexy!!

Today Ruby got out her box of dress-up clothes and Trip kept bringing me this princess top and would try to put it on. Since I've seen Gavin, our 3 yr. old neighbor, dress up in his sister's and Ruby's dress-up clothes, I thought I'd let Trip play too. Pink is such a good color on Trippers! He really did look cute! Sorry Rexy but I don't think the half hour in a princess top did any permanent damage to his manhood.

Tonight I got familiar with Smilebox- very cool, but, for the most part, too cutesy for me. Here are some pics from our trip to the Little Rock Zoo with the Day's in July.

Happy Back to School, YaYa!!

I thought I'd welcome you back to school with some new blog posts. I spent a lot of tonight getting familiar with slide.com which is really fun and will make my posts much more interesting. I still have lots of blog catching up to do which I'll hopefully finish tomorrow. Hope this school year is a great one! Love you!!

The Wright's Pool

Earlier in the summer we spent a couple of days at the Wright's (from church) fabulous pool. Ruby was such a diva laying out on the raft. Keeping up with 2 kids that can't swim, but that think they can, proved to be too much to handle so we joined the local community pool that has zero entry (like a beach). Hopefully next summer we can tackle the Wright's pool again.

Our Day with Vivian

Back in May, when the Day's moved into their gorgeous new home, Vivian spent a day with us. I couldn't resist this really funny photo opp. Vivian was trying so hard to talk to her buddy, Ruby!
