Christmas in Arkansas

There was a heavy sadness that hung over Christmas with Rex's family in Heber Springs from the sudden loss of Rex's 23 year old cousin, Lee, just a few days prior. But, through sharing fond memories of Lee and from the smiles of the children, I think we all still managed to experience a bit of Christmas joy.
Ruby and Trip absolutely LOVED the circa 1950s train that Pappaw set up this year around their tree. This was his train as a child and it still works splendidly!
We enjoyed lots of time with cousins, especially Jett (Lee's son) and Waverlee (Rex's 1st cousin) who are close in age to Ruby and Trip.
The girls enjoyed making Christmas playdough while the boys napped.

Poor Cash being the victim of a Cash Smash.
And, of course, opening presents always brings smiles.

Ruby is now in to Littlest Pet Shop and was excited to get the Adoption Center.

Lite Brite!!!
When they got ready to play Trip's new baseball toy, the kids wanted to get into uniform- Trip in his Yankee jersey and Ruby cheered him on in her cheerleader outfit.
