Ruby's Jesus

This was a photo I just couldn't wait to share. This afternoon Ruby came running into the living room from the playroom saying that she wanted to show me what she drew. She excitedly says, "Look Mommy, I drew Jesus!" I almost could've have cried. One side of me was so overjoyed that my child at barely 3 was aware of this symbol of Christ but on another note I was somewhat startled by it. I don't know how she knew that 3 crosses in those dimensions represent Jesus. She goes to Bible class and we read a very toddlerized version of the Bible at home. I asked her several times where she learned that 3 crosses meant Jesus and she kept saying "in the playroom." I'll be asking her Sunday school teacher if she learned this in class yesterday. If not, our 3 year old is either extremely observant and insightful or she's had a vision from above!

girl, you were right...it is a bit eerie, AND spot on. i must say of all the kids i know, i really think ruby is one of the brightest, so it isn't too shocking on that front. :)

Now THAT'S cool!!! It's amazing how much they comprehend, isn't it? Way to go, Ruby!

That is really neat! She seems like such a smart little girl! I am SO sorry I forgot to e-mail you back about your Dallas trip. I have this problem where if I don't respond right away, I completely forget to go back and do it and I wanted to do a little shopping research for you first and just lost track. I hope your trip was fun and that y'all found some good stuff and great deals! So sorry!

Ruby looks so different to me with her hair down. Her drawing is truly amazing. Ya know, we Moms read, talk and repeat, and teach till we're blue in the face. It's so refreshing, exciting, and encouraging when a child responds with something like this, isn't it? Gives you the motivation and happiness to keep at it!
